Acceptable Use Policy
The hard rules for everyone on NamibiaGo — travellers and businesses alike. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
Effective 22 July 2026
NamibiaGo is a small marketplace built on trust between travellers and Namibian businesses. These rules exist so that trust holds. They apply to everything you do in the app: listings, bookings, reviews, road reports, messages, photos and your profile.
1. Nothing illegal
- Do not use NamibiaGo to commit, facilitate, plan or advertise anything unlawful under Namibian, Portuguese or EU law.
- Specifically prohibited, without exception: sexual exploitation of any kind, trafficking, child sexual abuse material, wildlife crime including poaching and trade in protected species, trade in controlled drugs or weapons, and money laundering.
- Do not list or promote services that require a licence or permit you do not hold.
2. No fraud or deception
- Do not impersonate another person, business or NamibiaGo itself.
- Do not use a payment method that is not yours, or attempt payment fraud, card testing or chargeback abuse.
- Do not list a property, vehicle or service you do not have the right to sell, or advertise amenities that do not exist.
- Do not create fake accounts, fake bookings or fake reviews, and do not pay, pressure or incentivise anyone to write one.
- Do not run a booking through NamibiaGo and then move it off-platform to avoid commission, or ask a guest to pay you directly for a booking made here.
- Do not post misleading road reports. Falsely reporting a road as impassable — or as clear — can put people in real danger in remote areas.
3. No harm to other people
- No harassment, stalking, threats, intimidation or sexual advances toward other users, hosts or their staff.
- No hate speech or discrimination on grounds of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- No violent, graphic or sexual content, and no content that sexualises minors in any way.
- Do not publish another person's private information — home address, ID number, phone number, financial details — without their consent.
- Do not photograph or post images of other guests, staff or local people in a way they have not agreed to.
4. No abuse of the platform
- Do not scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically harvest listings, reviews, prices or user data.
- Do not probe, scan, overload or attempt to bypass the security of the app, our API or our infrastructure. Responsible security disclosures are welcome at support@namibiago.com — we will not pursue researchers who report in good faith and do not exfiltrate data.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile or build a competing service from the app.
- Do not automate account creation, booking or messaging, and do not use the AI trip planner to generate bulk or unrelated content.
- Do not upload malware, or content designed to break clients that display it.
- Do not use the app to send unsolicited advertising or spam to other users.
5. What happens if you break these rules
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may:
- Remove the content and tell you why.
- Warn you.
- Limit your account — for example, stop you posting reviews or road reports.
- Suspend your account, or delist a business, while we investigate.
- Close the account permanently.
- Withhold payouts where money is connected to the breach.
- Report to law enforcement, which we will always do for content that harms children.
We act on the first serious breach, immediately, without a warning first, where there is a risk to someone's safety.
6. Reporting and appeals
Report content or behaviour in the app, or email support@namibiago.com. Include enough detail for us to find it — a booking reference, a screenshot, a link.
If we act against your account or your content and you think we got it wrong, reply to the notice we sent you or email support@namibiago.com within 30 days. A person will look at it again, and we will tell you the outcome and the reason.
